Standing up for science

Some of the lab attended the Stand Up For Science Rally at the Georgia state capitol today!

We are standing up against the assault on science coming from our own government, which has frozen the NIH grant review process that we all rely on, illegally rescinded scientific grants for political reasons, and fired thousands of employees at NSF, NIH, CDC, and other agencies that are critical for scientific research and public health. We have been personally affected in numerous ways; for example, we have pending grants whose review is frozen, an approved grant whose funding is being withheld, and a student applying to PhD programs that are cutting admissions due to the current threats.

We never thought that our ability to do science would be under attack from our own government, but here we are. We’ll continue to do the best science we can and advocate for the value of research!
